The internet is a wonderful thing for keen travelers - no longer do we have to swat over piles of brochures, or spend hours at a travel agent's desk - just a Google search or two usually finds us every scrap of information we need (and often even more).
I make most of our airline, coach and accommodation bookings on-line and other modes of transport and holidays are quickly catching up on this convenience.
Like many regular travelers, I have my favourites and I'll share some of them with you. Of course, being based in Australia, some of these suggestions are more useful for consumption by Asia/Pacific readers, but I welcome any comments on other useful booking sites.
I regularly trawl the Australian airline sites, www.qantas.com.au, www.jetstar.com, www.virginblue.com.au and www.tigerairways.com comparing prices and checking up on bargain sale-priced flights. If I see a super cheap deal, I usually book a couple of seats straight away, even if I do not really plan to travel during the required period. It's often worth changing your flight dates to accommodate the 'cheapies'.
For overseas flights to Asia and on to Europe from Australia (and Brisbane in particular) I find Singapore Airlines' fares are often hard to beat. Their website www.singaporeair.com is great for online booking convenience, although Qantas also has an easy site to navigate and book an e-ticket on.

As far as accommodation goes, my favourite is www.wotif.com.au for last minute bookings. Their site is user friendly and has not disappointed me, to date.
For longer advance bookings I tend to try either www.octopustravel.com or www.hotelclub.com and, if I need a hotelroom anywhere in Europe my preference is www.venere.com
I have used all these sites numerous times and have found them to be reliable and safe. It's over to you...who do you book through?
